At Junior College Bilingual School, students are followed by an Italian teacher and an English mother tongue teacher.
The constant information exchange between the two teachers regarding the class will allow objective assessments, in order to adapt a fruitful teaching program, capable of enhancing the single student and the entire class.
The presence of the italian teacher during some of lessons in English will garantee the achievement of the learning objectives and, if needed, will support a child and/or the whole group.
The PE teacher will manage, along with the mother tongue teacher, the development of every single lesson.
The teaching method is based on the experiential approach, as suggested by the British curriculum, integrated with the italian one, adopting a modern educational style, in which the child isn't seen as an "empty container" to fill with rules and notions but as a protagonist and creator of his/her own growth process and knowledge.
Knowledge doesn't have to be forwarded only through "teachers' lessons", where the child is forced to listen to an adult, but it's mainly a spontaneous process, every child has to grow and expand it.
To ensure the achievement of the objectives to everyone with due regard to each child's learning ability, there will be supplementary activities and worksheets.
This teaching method is inspired by the Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) and Research Based Learning (RBL).
These approaches will be mainly used for scientific subjects, offering a sinergy with the national framework (ie. Orto Didattico…).
The IBL approach makes learning and the practical experience tools for developing problem solving and data processing abilities.
This is a student-centered system, the teacher's task will be to facilitate the learning.
It's not important "what we know" but "how we got to know it".
Learning is not an individual process. The social aspect of learning has an essential part in it. In this sense there are many forms of interaction and cooperation that can be introduced (COOPERATIVE LEARNING).
